im saying this for the 40000th time today but. the “are you a ____ or a _____ person?” meme was stolen from the wlw communities “are you a ____ or a ____ lesbian?” meme because the Straight won’t let us have anything to ourselves no matter what, like they hated the fact that we had something we could bond over so much, they just replaced “lesbian” with “person” and THAT is unacceptable 

but like… asking someone if theyre a “___ person or a ___ person” is something  people have always done? i mean it may be sort of a popular thing in the tumblr lesbian community but really doubt we invented that entire concept … i mean, ur free to disagree and be uncomfortable with straight ppl reblogging those memes but i honestly dont see the point in getting angry about this 

ive honestly never seen anyone say “are you a [very casula thing] person or a [other casual thing that might oppose othet thing] person?”, this whole meme appeared because some straight asshole couldnt handle not being involved in sth

Do you guys not remember the “Coke or Pepsi person’ ‘cat or dog person’ ‘backstreet boys or nsync person’ ‘book or movie person’ from the early 2000’s? because this meme is the exact same thing.
I just don’t get this discourse because it’s just a funny meme that isn’t harming anyone so I don’t see what the problem here is. It’s not like the straights are reblogging the ones specifically about wlw and being like “I’m not gay but definitely a *insert thing* bi”

the coke/pepsi person was a thing, but the current tumblr meme did not come from that, ive never seen a whole post that was like “are you a x person or a y person?” w more than 1 question. this whole thing was stolen from the lesbians, the format is the same, the questions are the same, everythig is the same except “person”. like ive seen “sun or moon person” and we ALL know thats the ultimate lesbian x or y question, so dont even try to defend this.

ya’ll seriously don’t want lesbians to have anything to themselves, do you? and believe me ive seen people be all “im not a lesbian but im definetely a flower person :)”
